Winter is just around the corner – is your farm equipment up for the challenge? Prepare for winter by scheduling preventative maintenance services with your local Patz Dealer.

The following maintenance should be performed regularly to ensure your Patz equipment stays in working order:

Vertical Mixers

• oil change (planetary)
• grease bearings
• charge scale battery
• check knives and screw

Manure Handling Equipment

• remove manure build up 
• clean corner wheels
• clean drive unit(s)
• lubricate evenwind as needed
• insulate outdoor drive units
• change home position on shuttle box scrapers to prevent freezing

Gutter Cleaner

• remove excess manure build up
• lubricate as needed

Pumps

• clean off excess build up
• lubricate as needed
• allow discharge lines to drain back in to pit

Conveyors

• remove excess material and build up prior to freezing
• check belts and brushes
• ensure brush comes in contact with belt

Silo Unloaders

• check/adjust chain tension
• inspect for general wear and tear
• reduce feed rate for frozen materials
